Probably you should be looking at how the pollution of any harbour affect any harbour rather than specifically searching for one harbour. Then after much reading formulate an answer based on your findings. But I guess you already read Concern Rises Over Plans to Dredge Kingston Harbour.

Well to give a direct answer to your question one would be that t pollution kills sea animals cutting down our supply of sea food with gives us vitamins. Secondly trade that usually takes place at the port may reduce significantly due to the pollution. It is insanitary and it is the one sea that surround the islands hence the pollution of the harbour may increase chances of people from a number of countries to get sick.

How does the polluted Harbour affect Port Royal fishing village

Due to the polluted waters, fish may ingest coliform bacteria which may not affect the fish exclusively but will affect those who eat the fish. There may be reduction in fish species as they may die or migrate due to low oxygen levels or BOD- Biochemical Oxygen Demand within these waters. This may impact seriously on the livelihoods of individuals of this fishing village.

WHAT IS THE EFFECT OF BUILDING A RECEPTING FACILITY TO RECEIVE SEWAGE FROM SHIP, IN JAMAICA

This may be a good plan, almost all ships release effluents within our harbours. The downside to this is that the contents of this facility may eventually reach back into the same areas the plan was formulated to protect.
