The Forbidden Kingdom [Movies]

On Monday night I went to see The Forbidden Kingdom at Carib 5. I haven't seen any movies of such that would grab me to go to the movies, however The Forbidden Kingdom did seem like a movie I could watch at the movies. After all, it had two of my favorite martial arts stars, Jakie Chan and Jet Li, so there must be at the least a few good parts! - 8 days ago

Children Burnt to Death! [Opinion]

It sounds like a broken record that plays over and over again. A bad song that seems to haunt you over the radio waves. Once again the heart wrenching news echoes in your mind, from the printed press to the evening news broadcast by the TV and the radio, "Children die in fire... parents left the children unattended." This happened so many times last year, the year before and the year before that, and yet it happens again this year. - Wed, 30th Apr at 12:33 am

Barbadian Christian alleges Rihanna song is a tract for Illuminat & Satanism [Opinion]

I got an e-mail from a pal of mine and they didn't know if to be shocked or laugh themselves sick. It's about Rihanna, it's about Devil worship, it's about coded messages and all in the same breath - from a Bajan who touts Christianity and of course has a massive dollop of a desire to Save The World From Evil! - 2 days ago

Curried Goat and Pork Roti - Memoirs of the Ackee Tree Restaurant [Lifestyle]

As this News-Blog is about Barbados and set in the Caribbean, is only natural every now and again to look at things Bajan/C'bean... Such as the time I pondered about a soft drink flavoured like a roti, but better yet, a look at the roti in Barbados itself. - 4 days ago

This is Merricks, St. Philip, as it is today, May 4th, 2008. Apparently, there is to be a huge development (hotel or condos) in this area very soon. As you can see, there was a huge bush fire there, and most of the beautiful casuarina trees, bush and grass were destroyed. - 4 days ago

Mildred Loving Passes On - But The Struggle Of Interracial Couples Continues [Lifestyle]

In 1958, Mildred and Richard Loving Killed Virginia’s “Racial Integrity Act”

Shona and I often get “the look” when we hold hands in public - and when the rest of the family is with us we sometimes get “the stare”. That is just reality for a mixed marriage like ours. We know that some folks are more curious or surprised than anything and their stares are not unkindly. - 4 days ago

Cut the song & dance, culture is big business [Business]

This is the age of the Creative Economy.
