What is real peanut butter?

On the package it says "made with real peanut butter". Is there such a thing as real peanut butter? or maybe I'm reading too much into it. I mean what if the peanut butter was made of fake peanuts? would the peanut butter still be real?

but you not answering the question. How do we know that peanut butter isn't "artificially peanut-flavored brown paste"? artificially peanut-flavored brown paste is REAL, isn't it?

yes, actually, everything is real if you put it like that. Realness is not defined by authenticity.

I say its real if grows or if it naturally occurs. peanuts are real whilst peanut butter is not

you will never see that on a product. More than likely they will just omit no say and say that its artificially flavored. Fake doesn't really sound good.
