If you got the chance to live forever would you take it??

Was watching Underworld II and saw the granddaddy of all vampires who had lived for centuries deciding on it is time to go, by way of a massive explosion. Now that got me thinking what it would be like to be able to live forever. With men having searched for the proverbial fountain of youth for years... you have to ask would you have taken a sip... would you like to live for ever? Well when i thought about no damn way ... no way i want to be hanging around for all that time. What say you??

Absolutely not. I would be bored to tears after the first 60 years.

I would think that there would be alot of preconditions that would go along with that. Even then, I'm not too certain if that would be a good thing. Living forever would usually require that you would have to make a living forever as well. I may be thinking too deeply, but I would say that life would lose all meaning if we could live forever. Think about it, a lot of our basic human instincts & motivations have everything to do with the fact that tomorrow isn't promised to us, but that's just my humble point of view.

depends on whether you continuously age or your stuck at one age like that little girl in interview with a vampire.

If I stopped aging at 30 or 35, or even at my present age, yeah, I would go for it. After all, if ever I got tired or living forever, I could blow myself up like that vampire, couldn't I?
For some reason, I am having trouble posting comments here. I click submit, am asked if I am sure, then nothing happens!
Apparently I am still able to reply though...

I agree with madbull... If I could remain a particular age, say round about 30 - 35... I would.

did you ever read Tuck Everlasting?
I would not want to hang around forever. I'm thinking I would get bored or lonely or just so above it all that nobody could stand me any more. [hurt]

Nope...I think it would be a little like being an army brat: always having to move around and make new friends. Plus, you'd have to watch all the people you love, wither, suffer and die and you'd still keep on living...

I wouldn't want to live forever but if I had to choose I guess I would have to pick 25 because you're not a "kid" anymore but your not really adulty either.
