Play through

As soon as I got KL2DD I popped it in - even though I was playing other things - got a splitting headache from the wobbly camera. My god that camera is wobbly (can be turned off in the options). I started the game on the default medium difficulty because I heard the game was 4 hours long and I wanted to get my money's worth. The graphics are not super detailed but it runs super smooth, like 60fps butter smooth. The action moves from left to right in a weird way. Everything is happening on the screen at the same time. I think I am going to like this short game.

You get an achievement for beating the first stage. Its one of those games that dont tell you explicitly where one stage starts or ends. It just flows to the next.

At this point I placed this game on my backlog. Its too good to play right now. I feel a headache coming on. I will play it before I die - hopefully.

I popped this game back in because I have been playing too many bad games for too long. This game is rough and gritty. The shooting is inaccurate, the cover mechanic is wack, the enemies are super accurate. The game overall is so grimmy you would think that it is made by amatuers. There are no secrets or collectibles around the corners - its a straight tunnel shooter. You will get shot alot, even on medium - there is no way to play this game without tanking 1000 bullets.

I ran through the game in 3 sittings on medium. I was going to stop and play RE5 which was next in the rotation but I could not really put the game down. I wanted to see what was next. The game is rough as I mentioned before but I will also add annoying to the mix. It is annoying that there is not melee or QTE; if you run out of ammo you have no other way of attacking enemies. No punching or kicking. No take downs.

Forgot to mention that the enemies sometimes take 2 shots to fall or 3 at random. Plus they are really sporadic even on easy mode which makes it look like it was done on purpose. The only good think is that you as the player can tank lots of bullets like wolverine. There is no way to play this game without getting shot 40 times in a level. No perfect runs possible.

How it ended

I like how the game ended. Clean with no end boss with a super health bar or anything dumb like that. It just ends and after I watched the credits I played some arcade mode. Arcade mode has some DLC that is missing but it does not seem too important.

Conclusion

My rating 8/10. The game is rough around the edges. It is a work of art. A grimy, headache inducing mess of a game. I would not say that its a "must play" because there are tonnes of other cover shooters on the xbox 360. KLDD is an experience but not for players who like precise accurate game play. Its a bad game that is so bad its good. And its like 4 hours long.

Strategy

A reviewer said you should not use the game's cover system but the cover system is hard to avoid and the enemies will shoot you from across the stage. Shotguns are good. Machine guns are the best but you rarely get them. shotguns are my go to because they are the closest to a one shot kill weapon.
