September 2011 Updates (ChangeLog)

Its back to school time and I'm working on the new website design, the long over due update that should have happened at the beginning of 2011 but nothing ever goes as planned. It is going to have a white background and big masthead pictures just like the ones I had in the past. All that is old is new again. Hopefully I will finish it before I lose my selfish-ways. I've been working on other stuff - You know how I am. Laying pipes.

As for the SoftNews sub-site I've created a new page which shows you only videos, so now you can just click on the video - right on the page - and watch it.

I have some pictures of floors that I think I will put up in a new photo project category. I was thinking of calling it "floor fetish" but a member of the fan club suggested "Low life" instead, which is just twisted enough that it actually seems more logical.

In the months ( well its been a year ) since my last confession I've created a whole other website for my game development side projects - I didn't want to bore you people with that kind of technical mumbo jumbo. Plus since then facebook and twitter have totally blown the hell up and no one has anytime to comment on anything anymore because they have A.D.D. with all the stuff that is floating around on there. I will have everything up and running by the end of the week cause we don't care about the young folks, talking about the young style; and we don't care about the old folks, talkin' 'bout the old style too.

I've been busy lately mostly working on daily disasters and sleeping. But I have not ignored the internet. And with the rise of the scorn that is facebook its harder and harder to focus on anything creative nowadays. But alas I've been working on at least one thing that I can share with the public.

I've added a new category called "Food and Eats". Please don't misinterpret what "Eats" means - I know you people. Eats is just there to cover all the other stuff that may not necessarily be considered as "food", such as snacks and sweets which are bad for your teeth. I have a couple pics lined and I expect at least one picture submitted from each of you.

In other news I've been working feverishly (meaning every now and then when I'm not doing something else) on simplifying the blog news website. Doing so will eventually make it a cleaner more efficient overall expirence for the readers and the blogs that are linked. I have about 29 categories now, including Sex and Relationships, Politics, Opinion, Travel, Sports etc. I'm working on reducing the number to about 15. I've also made it so that it reads RSS feed from your blogs automatically, so if you write a lot of movie Reviews just email me (owensoft on gmail dot com) the link the RSS feed for your movie review category and I'll set it up in the appropriate category. I'm also working on logins for editors so that they can manage the influx of information that comes through the feeds.

So now there are 2 ways to update the news page; posting a link or submitting your RSS feed. The news site mainly focus on blog posts by people with opinions, hense you will rarely see a Gleaner or CNN article on there.

So thats basically it. Post a comment. Lata.

New theme, I created late one night based on a old version of the wafer site. I really did not have any design inspiration behind this one apart from the fact that it was a new year and I was getting pretty sick of the old one.

Nothing much apart from the theme has changed. Updated the New user page so that it forces the user to answer 10 questions before they can register on the site. I've always been annoyed when people register and not post any comments, so that will solve that little annoyance.

The archive page also has startling data; 2009 (120 items posted with 61 photos) vs 2008 (255 items posted with 138 photos). 2009 has less posts than 2008 by about half. Performance is WAY DOWN! I'm not sure if I've people lazy or the recession had hit the site last year. I may need to fire somebody or you guys need to start submitting more content. Either way heads are going to roll!

As I stated at the beginning of the year of our lord 2009 the new design is up. Only took about 4 months for something to push me from my procrastination and put it up. After the website troubles last weekend I put it up so its not what you would call "perfect". And due to the world recession I have cut back on the colors. So without further a due I present to you white wedding. Complain about it and make suggestions by posting a comment.

Feb 2009 - new category idea (ChangeLog)

Development on the new year site has been halted somewhat because of the lack of a computer and work has not been on the forgiving side. However I will get back to it eventually, hopefully before the end of the year.

So here is the thing, idea, that I have being thinking in my mind, just a second ago, for a new content category. I will name it "video battle". So what will happen is that;

Step 1: each week somebody will post/start a new topic for example a topic called "love" or "sunday" or "bueaty" or "wedding".

Step 2: each commenter will post a link to a youtube video that in thier minds best describes the topic. it can be a music video or whatever type of video. Point is to see what everybody appreciates.

Sounds like a plan?

January 2009-ish - design preview (ChangeLog)

So wow, yeah its a new year. I hope you all have realized this. ok cool.

As customary at this time of year I change stuff. Now with the unset of a new year I have an excuse to redesign the website AGAIN without people thinking that I have ADD or chic (elegance by virtue of being fashionable).

So the above picture is what the site is going to look like. Yes that is a white background and those are titties. The random mastheads will be back and bigger than ever i.e. the picture.

I will also be implementing someway for you to mark your favourite comments and posts so that when the end of the year comes AGAIN, it will be easier to rank them based on popularity rather than masturbatory self love.

I also may do a email subscription thing for those people who still haven't figured out rss. And also give the option to send you a email when a reply is posted to your comment.

By popular demand you will be able to upload your stupid portrait images. However, I will still be hating on all cell phone and small pictures. Also the maximum size of images will now be increased to 700x525 pixels. This is what that will look like; (related picture)

October 2008 - bodyshots? (ChangeLog)

Its been almost/over a month and when I check the list of submitted items there is NOTHING there for the Bodyshots category. Its seems that Karl's post may have cursed the category to utter fail. Not to mention pepper's laziness. I didn't want to create the category because I knew everybody/most people eat too much poultry and would turn chicken.

I implore you people to submit some pictures! tattoos, eyes, hands, whatever.

In other news

The news section can now be viewed in a pictures only format called News By Photo (for those who caan read). Be reminded that anybody can submit their blog posts to the news section and the trendy among us who use feed readers can subscribe to the news RSS feed which is constantly updated.

Next site redesign is going to be black with lots of grays an white text.

September 2008 - Bodyshots Live (ChangeLog)

The BodyShots category is active. I still haven't gotten back my camera. Will somebody please christen the category with a picture that sets the precedence. Lets pray this doesn't turn bad.

I also changed the home page making it simpler and lighter. Its like 4 kb with rotating images using jquery. yay for jquery.

NB. Also note that the images you upload should be in landscape form. meaning that they should not be portrait or this is going to happen.

The "are you sure?" javascript popup confirmation was also removed as per request by the lazy people.

Based on the previous discussion on the new category about tattoos/feet/head-shots Stunner suggest to name the new category "Body Shots". All in favor say Aye (plus something more because the comment box would allow you to say one word).

Also I've been thing about a Food category as well similar to Pimp Juice except well its food. It should be in a plate preferably.

There is also the problem of whether these new categories should show up on the main page when new items are posted. I know this maybe hard hard for some of you to understand but there are actually things that I post on here that go straight into the archives. The reason for this is to prevent the logbook posts from being quickly pushed off the home page by dozens of pictures.

hmm good morning or is it afternoon? So based on the previous tattoo category suggestions. I have come up with a solution to the problem of it being too difficult for some people to find interesting pictures of tattoos to upload/add/post.

Firstly instead of naming the category "tattoo" a more general name can be used such as "random body pictures" or "modeler" or 'hand jobber" or something like that. So the people with their tattoos, foot fetishes, hand fetishes can add pictures without having to think too much. I hesitate to include anything else because it will only have us headin down a slippery slope.

Any good ideas for a name for the new category?

Updated The news project

Changed the main page layout to show all three sections at once in 3 columns

I killed the frame

change the header image. now more confusing

css in the jamaica section is slightly improved

added previous week, next week link to main page

changed the submit form so that it automatically picks up the header of the link that you enter (Stunner: why is there a image in your header title?)

Other Stuff

At some point last week I started using the default wordpress theme - I've changed it back. It should be in the appearance settings if you want it back.

The random photo journal has reach 100 photos which means that the other categories are being completely ignored or they are too tedious for the mental capacity of the populous.

Well the news site has been up for about a month now, still abit hard for my mom to use. I added a news RSS feed as well.

I have a GTalk box in the sidebar which allows people to chat with me whenever I have google talk open. Testing that out abit.

I changed the image paths in the RSS feed hopefully everybody is seeing the images now.

Links to youtube are now automagically converted to video objects. So if you want to post a video just put the youtube link in the description text and the website will do the rest.

News Beta Live (ChangeLog)

Took about a week, rest of the time spent testing. It is basically a big news magazine. There is no content that is ACTUALLY on the site, however the sites purpose is to direct people to where the content exists. Its like a REALLY FANCY BLOGROLL. Any suggestions are welcome. Right now anybody can post links to any blog posts or news stories they wish ( even if its your own ). So if you watch a movie or you anixous about something or you caan cook or wrote something that you'd like to share just click the "submit link" link and add it to the site.

It will look better as I mess with it over time and get user feed back....anyway.....News - Today on the Internet(Working Title).

Its pretty simple whether its worth while is yet to be seen. Its all about self promotion, directed local content and ease of use. There are only 3 sections now, more sections/countries/categories can be added if needs be. There is no comment feature on the actual site (as users are encouraged to post comments on the actual "linked" site). I have full control of it so don't hesitate to tell me what needs to change to make it better.

Feb 2008 - news (ChangeLog)

Some might notice that I have removed the news link from the menu. I'm redoing it. People have been going there and not finding anything of interest to them. So I took it upon myself to develop a dedicated website where links can be posted to various types of interesting stuff videos, pictures etc. Blog posts and the opinions of bloggers are of special interest and will be encouraged over other media sources.

I'm still playing around with the concept of how it will look and work ( meaning that I'm almost done ). Its going to be like a magazine of random interesting links to other webpage. Right now there are 3 sections: Main (with everything), Jamaica (with jamaican stuff) and International (foriegn news). I don't really know about other caribbean islands so I wouldn't take up the task of having a whole section for them unless I can get links to whats cool in those areas.

Anyway thats the jist of it. If you want to see it while I work on it send me a email or leave me some ideas on how best to do it in the comments.

2008! YES!!! Finally I can change the theme without being seen as a style whore with A.D.D. So far it seems that it will be more white less colors, bigger text and more class. Like a apple mac or a wii. Let me know if you hate it. The old theme will be in the settings but as you know you have to login to get that sorry.

I'm going to add 2 new sections;

Technology:Where items posted by users will be about programming, video games and computer stuff. It won't show up on the homepageGlamorous: Where items posted by users will be about other people and what they are doing. So you'll be able to promote good stuff going on anywhere offsite - especially blog stuff

Some readers might notice that the more sections I have the less I post in logbook - its true.

Stuff I forgot

When you make a reply to a comment you will notice that the page doesn't refresh. So making mutiple replies on the same post is easier now.
