Hot Fuzz Review (Movies)

Hot Fuzz is a action movie comedy parady about a top London cop transferred to a small town and paired with a witless new partner. As usual I'm late on the uptake when it come to movies but its a rediculously funny movie with english accents that starts out slow and ends with a bang. 9 out of 10 near perfect.

I was watching black starz when I saw this footbal movie start. I'm not a fan of sports movies, I always found them lame and predictable but Goal is a exceptional football movie about a mexican football player from LA who travels to england in the hopes of playing for NewCastle. For the first half hour of the movie I was waiting for the black star/co-stars to come on because obviously its "Starz in Black", but I kept on watching and I'd say that this maybe the best football movie I've watched since Bend it Like Beckam. Anna Friel is hotty white girl but thats besides the point. Goal gets a 9 out of 10. As good as a football movie can get.

The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc (Movies)

Is one of those movies from the Viking/Armor/Sword/BattleAxe era. Its one of my favourite old movies from 1999. Simply, funny, sad and so far away that only my imagination or a time machine can reach it. It maybe a turn story - it may not, I didn't look it up. Its about a little girl who sees her mother/sister killed and becomes deeply religious/crazy kinda like in Stigmata. Stars Milla Jovovich, near perfect movie probably her best work.

Rockaway (2007) Review (Movies)

Rockaway is one of those movies that isn't really exceptional in any particular. Its just a regular army going around killing bad guys who killed his family. Its all been done before but never like this. Its a hardcore ride of bloody merciless killing, thankfully there is no nudity, sex or ill treatment of women. Its a good, bloody movie. 8 out of 10.

Really I don't know about this movie. Its the usual under covercop versus mole in the police force drama thing - with a twist. So it ends up that both sides of the fence start trying to figure out who the other guy is. AND accidentally start sleeping with the same girl. All I'm going to say is that it ends badly but its a wild ride of close calls, murder, voilence and cellphones. A couple unecessary coincidences but its a good rush 8/10. well worth the watch.

Mr Brooks Review (Movies)

You'll notice that I don't post reviews of all the movies I watch because I watch too many movies. Everynow and then I slack off and make a mistake. All that I can say about this movie is that its perfect. If your going to be on the other side of the planet for a day you might as well you watch a movie about a serial killer with a invisible friend. A psychological thriller. Most serial killers have one or many but the one that Mr. Brooks has is different. The movie is good, better than good, perfect. Murder, lies, suspense, mistery, a little nudity and sex at the beginning, brutality, blood but not so much that your grand mother will want to turn off the tele, confusing for people who can't handle multiple plot lines, slow sometimes, all star cast, suspense, action - my rating: 10 out of 10.

A nice quiet movie about living on the edge, making ends meet and how to stay healthy in the city. Will Smith spends 70% of the movie running and finding ways of getting himself out of debt. No body dies, no gun fire, gets hit by a car, a couple funny moments. 8 of 10.

I really don't know what the hell was happening in this movie. All I know is that it doesn't get good until the last 15 minutes when he starts kicking women in the face. 6 out 10 stars for being pointless and confusing.

Blood Diamond Review (Movies)

Blood Diamond is movie that follows the story of a deadly white diamond smuggler (from the titanic) and a clumsy african man (from the gladiator) who tries to save his family from the genocide that was/is happening in africa. The movie carries you along rather briskly while providing moments of nicely done graphic volience and random firing into crowds of people. The blackman is driven by a blind desire to regain something that he lost but luckily he teams up with the luckiest white smuggler in the world and the 2 set off to escape from one impossible situation after the other. Its ties in nicely with that other movie starring Nicolas Cage called "Lord Of War". That girl there has eyes to die for. Lots of running, shooting of defenceless people, some machete play, close calls, insight into world problems, great movie, crazy eyes, simple story 8.5 out of 10. Watched it on HBO.

300 - movie review (Movies)

300 is everything the you'll expect, pretty graphics, awesome fight scenes, random unnecessary sex, and nudity. What they don't tell you in the trailers is that the movie has a very anti-climatic ending its hard to explain but you'll either forget about it or want your money back after you leave the theatre. All the wheat grass in the fields of Spartan will remind you of The Gladiator, probably too much. So its a story from a comic book. Its pretty, you can wait until it comes out on cable. The story is really simple and people shout alot, you should watch the movie for the action and the action alone. You'll be pissed at the end because of the lame ending but you will be happy with the blood and the gore and the gayness up until right before it ends.

So what is wrong with 300? Its a movie about 300 soldiers but most of the time you'll only see like 20. Regular normal people won't be affected by this but it pissed me the hell off. Its like my mind kept counting the guys on screen for some reason. Its really straight forward, most of the time with no background music which makes it really quiet.

I give it a 7 out of 10. Could have gotten a 8 but I'm never going to watch that movie again so it really doesn't matter. Wait till it comes out on cable.

Xmen 3 - the last Stand Review (Movies)

The movie was fill with a lone of extra X-men characters this time around. Some mostly useless and others pretty nice. The director/writer often used too many "tells" for example there is a scene when Storm and Wolverine are walking through some fog. Wolverine says "I can hardly see a thing" and Storm replies "I can fix that" and then the director zooms into Storm's face and her eyes turn while then she clears the fog. Stuff like that happens all through out the movie in VERY obvious situations. But in the end it was a very good super hero movie. Rogue does nothing but be a big baby as usual. In fact most of the characters do nothing much but it hard to really make equal use of all the characters in a movie like this. X-men and none x-men fans alike will love its flashiness and massive special effects scenes. There is no Gambit and Wolverine is still unstoppable. A must see. There is a scene after the credits that gives you a LITTLE bit of necessary information about the story - you need to see it but its not worth seeing (does that make any sense? ). I give it a 8 out of 10. Very good movie could be better but no major blunders.

Poseidon Review (Movies)

Poseidon is a movie about a ship that over turns in the middle of the ocean. A lot people in the wrong place at the right time. They have to survive and the unimportant people die one by one. Poseidon is the name of the ship that gets knocked over by a "a rouge wave". 6 out of 10. I kept think about the Titanic the whole movie. Kurt Russell needs to make another "Escape from New York" or somewhere of the sort.

War of the worlds Review (Movies)

Its been a long time since I have seen a movie with a more stupidly annoying set of characters. I mean every single person in the movie requires a swift kick in the nuts in order to communicate. I did not watch the series so I don't how the characters in that were acted. There is a little girl in the movie that is allegic to peanut butter and is afraid of terrorists, the son is crazy, the father is crazy and everybody they meet in the movie is a head case. The movie has some intense scenes through even if the story is sketchy. "Do you have room?" So yeah there are some pretty good scenes but for the most part the characters get themselves into some very odd "lifetime movie" situations. Its worth the watch though, even if you just want to stick your hand into the television and choke the actors to death. I give it a 7 out of 10. Good science fiction movie but with annoying character acting. "There is room for a 100 more!"

UltraViolet sucks (Movies)

When I reviewed the trailer for Ultraviolet I thought that this was going to be the movie of the year. Really, I can't believe that it was possible to make a movie that sucks worst than Aeon Flux. But Ultra-Violet managed to do it in fine style. I blame it on poor character development. The movie started out quickly, so quickly I couldn't even tell if it had started or I was still the upcoming movies. At some point down into the movie your will learn that Milla is unnecessarily a vampire - a fact which adds this movie to my list of stupid vampire movies. The fact that she is a vampire is so insignificant that she might as well be a Jamaican. Poor character development. She kills a lot of silly people for silly reasons, nicely. I give it a 3 out of 10. The trailer for the movie is actually better than the movie itself.
