How to Ruin your life with Facebook
Do you have a Facebook account? Well congratulations. You’re one step closer to being a public asset. Facebook is the single most popular social networking online portal in the world. Now with over 500 million subscribers, it has probably enumerated the large majority of the world’s computer literate population – and that’s precisely why it’s so incredibly dangerous.

Richard Nicholson Photography : Ali Barber
Ali's barber shop is the most popular asian barber shop in London's East End, with queues often running out onto the street. Ali, Mohsin, Vicky and Shehz, the four Pakistani barbers, work late into the night fashioning mohicans, shape-ups, and v-cuts for their predominantly Bengali clientele. In spring 2010 I set up a pop-up studio in the basement of Ali's shop and spent 6 weeks documenting a cross-section of his customers.

The Jolly Boys - a Jamaican modern mento music band[video]
In winter of 1946, Errol Flynn purchased Navy Island for the princely sum of US$80,000. For the next decade that small swath of land, not even 100 yards from the beaches of Port Antonio, became the berthing place for Flynn’s yacht Zaca, and the staging point for his unending parties that is today the stuff of legend.

I’ve been really paying attention to my neighbor whose boyfriend drives the “Mature” BMW. So every night this car comes and its there for a couple of hours until really late sometimes, sometimes very early in the morning but never over night, sometimes the car was there in the day time too but only on the weekends.

Where to Eat: Pon Di Road in Kingston
For those who don’t know my 9-5 requires that I work on the road from 8:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. then I’m in office. I’m not going to try to fool anyone, most mornings I don’t want to wake and as much as I want to get up early and make breakfast, the truth is that hardly ever happens. And as much as I envy those responsible adults who take their tupaware to work with last night’s leftovers, the truth is “I haven’t cooked dinner that could leave left overs in a longtime.”

You know, I met someone who’s right for me… the problem is, I don’t think he thinks I’m right for him… the fool. LOL!
The situation has nothing to do with whether I’m a nice girl, ambitious, intelligent or beautiful – he already ‘gets’ that I am these things and more. The problem is, we live 581 miles (935 km) apart.

I recall the first time hearing about Digicel’s Facebook Page and watching it build momentum from mouth marketing from Fans. Digicel (Jamaica) has a culture within its community where their subscribers are consistently rewarded, if you remember the day they launched in Jamaica (April, 2001) where everyone got their free co-branded copy of the Jamaica Gleaner.

Moab 2010
Jon and I left Friday afternoon for a three-day break from everything. From children, pets, broken boilers, squirrels with good aim, and even the Internet. Well, I stayed off the Internet, and Jon did the best he could. Meaning just enough that I didn't have to nag, twist his nipple, or tell him to please put down his phone and look around

Fashion Night Out Jamaica Stylee Endorsed by Vogue
Yes, stylee, its not a typo. As they say when 'merca ketch cold, Jamaica sneeze. (When America catches a cold, Jamaica sneezes) Last year when Fashion's Night Out debuted, Miss Novia from the Jamaica Observer made sure we were in the mix ourselves even if we were a couple weeks off.

Dominica's Boiling Lake: A Trail to a New Wonder of the World
Dominica is one of many the Caribbean islands formed on the site of volcanic activity. Its population (mostly blacks) grows bananas and nearly one-third of the labour force works in agriculture. Dominica’s mountains, rainforests, freshwater lakes, hot springs, waterfalls, and diving spots makes it an attractive Eco-tourism destination.

Robert Rowland Smith on Getting Away From It All
I know people who spend fifty weeks of the year thinking about their holidays, and two weeks on them. Surely they’d be better off making their daily life more tolerable, so there’s less pressure on that precious fortnight.

Patty Bandits in Paradise - #ironymuch
What an irony that the very day after Playboy magazine asked me to expand on my statement “In Jamaica farce, intrigue and tragedy remain inextricably intertwined” (Don’t worry–re Playboy–ALL will be revealed in due course) another farcical scenario played itself out in downtown Kingston when armed men took over the Juici Patty outlet on West Street.

Stunner's Afflictions: Jamaica Pegasus Tweetup Round Two!
In June of this year the Jamaica Pegasus (@JamaicaPegasus) created history when they hosted the first ever corporate sponsored tweetup in Jamaica. It was a great event which saw not only the popularity of the hotel grow, but also it gave so many tweeters an opportunity to put the faces behind the tweets.

Mass Murder in Barbados. Robbery fire deaths.
Sorrow first. The outrage will wait – but no window bars will contain it.
Ours is a small island but today it is very small. It seems that everyone knows someone who is grieving with family members, friends or neighbours of the six women who were murdered by robbers on Friday evening.
